The professional board for the development of a value assessment system for jobs in the state is working on all aspects of the development of a value assessment system that is consistent with the goals of equal pay, quality of public services and policy-based human resource management. This includes, among other things, defining the scope of the project, organizing education and communication, defining the arrangement of job analyses and creating job profiles, and selecting assessment factors. The professional board consists of an equal number of representatives of employers and general employee organizations. They represent the Icelandic state, KÍ, ASÍ, BHM and BSRB. The Office for Equality in the Ministry of Justice also has an observer on the board, with freedom of speech and the right to make proposals at its meetings.
The Steering Group on the Valuation of Jobs for Equal Pay has the role of following up on government statements on the creation of a comprehensive valuation system for equal pay and ensuring that the progress of the project and its products are in accordance with the objectives and provisions of the Equality Act.
The Equal Pay Agency collaborates with a professional board on the one hand and a steering committee on the other. Within the Equal Pay Agency, there is a project office for the state project, which works for the professional board on all aspects of the project.
